Who We Are

Who We Are

Locals’ Favourite Place to Eat in Kuranda

Originally located in the Kuranda Markets for over 13 years, Petit Cafe is famous for its 100% organic buckwheat flour, which creates gluten-free, mouth-watering, decadent crêpes, and is known as the best place to eat in Kuranda.

The history of crepes, traditionally called galettes, dates back to around the 13th century in Brittany, France and can be savoured right here in tropical Far North Queensland.
Sit back and relax in our beautiful alfresco setting, surrounded by lush tropical gardens.

Why not try one of our gin cocktails crafted by a local distillery, or sip on a smooth coffee blend, locally roasted by Tattooed Sailor Coffee Roasters.

Our chef and owner Aurelien did his apprenticeship in Geneva, Switzerland before travelling to Australia. He worked in some of the country’s culinary landmarks, where he learnt the concept of fine dining and its rigorous high standards and consistency.

With over two decades of experience in hospitality, Aurelien understands the importance of using the freshest local produce available to create honest and delicious food.

The Petit Cafe Menu

With an extensive range of sweet and savoury crêpes, the Petit Cafe menu is available from 8am to 3pm from Wednesday to Sunday.

We are also offering Napolitano-style pizza cooked in our traditional wood fired oven each Friday and Saturday evening from 5pm to 8pm for dine in or takeaway. Our authentic pizza dough is slowly fermented for 72 hours. During this fermentation process, the grain’s acid is broken down, making the pizza easier to digest.
